Fall Decorations

I'm getting so excited for Fall and Halloween!  I love this time of year!!!

I can't wait to try out this spray paint on some pumpkins.

This would be so cute in my family room.
Love the green moss and candles.

Piggy Bank

I bought this cute Piggy Bank for Joaquin at Target.  He LOVES it!  The main purpose is for him to collect his money in from his chore chart.  Which is working out great!

Ellie Tufted Fabric Bed

I'm in love with this bed from Costco for my daughter.  I bought my sons bed from Costco and the quality is amazing.  Is it a sign because her name is the same as the bed?  I know I could make the headboard myself for cheaper but I'm feeling a little lazy and unmotivated in that department.

Flashback Thursday

Here's a project I did last year on a Computer Armoire.

Here is the before Pics of the Armoire. When we bought it we took the doors off so it would be easier to move. Therefor I didn't get very good before pics.

After pics:

We bought it on craigslist and the guy ended up giving it to us for $25. For the price I was expecting a cheap desk but it is actually really nice and I think we got it for a steal.

Now that it's been a year my biggest mistake was not priming it.  So I recommend priming it!

End Table Redo

I found this table at the DI for $15 and it's all real wood.

A little banged up.

I sanded the top.  (All by myself)

Then I started to stain it.
I decided to stain to keep the wood look.

Finished staining black.

Then I primed it a little.
I hate when I don't prime something first.

Then I painted it white.

Then I glazed it to give it an antique look.

Hard to see it.  My camera doesn't show it very good.

This is what we had before.
We bought it when we first got married for really cheap.

And now.
I need to get something cuter to go on the table.

Birdie Mobile

When I found out I was pregnant with a girl I instantly knew that I wanted her room to be birds & owls.  I fell in love with a bird mobile idea.  Many people use stick and branches but I wanted to use a bird cage.  Do you know how hard it is to find a bird cage when you are looking for one?

I used this pattern for the birds from Spool Sewing.
These birds are so easy.  If I can make them anyone can.

I finally found the birdcage at TJ Maxx.  Love that place.  My husband hung the bird cage and the birds.  For the birds we used fish wire and silver tacks that we painted the same color as the ceiling.  In the pictures you can see the fish wire and tacks but in person you can't unless you look hard.  I absolutely love how it all turned out.  I always receive comments on it.
