Ribbon Tree Shirt

I made this cute ribbon tree shirt for my little girl for Christmas!  It was super easy and I found the idea on pinterest.  You can find the site HERE.

Sorry for the pic.  It was taken with my phone.  Yes are cameras are still broken and we sent one of them off yesterday to be fixed before Christmas.

Looking for Stroller/Carseat

If your looking for a carseat/stroller combo.  This is the best one.  My husband and I bought this with our first child and we have LOVED it!  We use the jogging stroller ALL the time.  The stroller is smooth and perfect for running or even just walking.

When I go on walks with friends they are always envious how easy it is to go on sidewalks, run over rocks, etc.

Plus the price is great!  You can find it here.

I have this

on my mind, cupcakes! My daughters first Birthday is just two short weeks away.  I'm doing a cupcake theme and have lots of work to do.  I made this bow today for her hair to match her dress.  I just winged the whole thing so I don't have a tutorial.  I think it turned out adorable!

Flashback Thursday

I'm a cloth diapering mom.  This is something that I decided to try on my second child.  My main reason was to save $$$.  Now that I've been doing it for 10 months it's turned into so much more and I LOVE cloth diapers!

What I've learned after about cloth diapering after 10 months..........

A sample of our stash of all in one (AIO).  Aren't the colors so fun!

These kind of diapers have a pocket that you stuff with an insert. (FYI, she's pooped in this diaper and you'd never know.  Looks brand new.)

Then you just put them on like a disposable.  Very easy!  I actually save all these diapers for night time and if I'm venturing out all day with her.  It makes for an easier diaper change.

I use these prefolds 99% of the time and I LOVE them.  See the Snappi, this has replaced pins.  Very easy as well!  I was very afraid of these and thought I would hate them but they've turned out to be my favorite kind of diaper to use.

Then you just cover the prefold with a CUTE cover.  Again very easy.

The nicest thing about cloth is that when you are running low on diapers you just throw them in the washer.  We don't have to run out and spend $40 at Costco.  You do have to use a special detergent but this is my second bag and I just opened it.  It LAST a long time.

We bought this special sprayer that goes on our toilet to get the poopies out.  Now that my daughter is on solids we have to flush her poop down the toilet.  It's been a harder adjustment but I think we've finally gotten a system worked out.  My husband cleans ALL the poopie diapers.  I change them and he cleans them.  Great system huh.  I know he's the best husband EVER!

We still LOVE cloth diapering.  Even my husband likes it.  Now I'm always very disappointed when I use a disposable.  I rarely have a cloth diaper leak.  If it leaks it's usually cause it's a REALLY BAD diaper but usually the cloth can contain them.

Need a Laugh

This for me is so true.  I wait until my kids are napping before I dare make any phone calls.

This is just a small sample.

Teething Bling

I think this is such a fabulous idea.  It was on BabySteals today but I looked to late and they were all sold out, except a color I didn't like.  Maybe next time I will be quicker.

Crawling

Is really a nightmare.  Sure when your baby first starts crawling you think it's cute and you're over joyed with what they have accomplished.  But as the days pass and they perfect it, it's really just annoying.  My daughter learned how to crawl at 8 months and now she is everywhere.  She never wants to sit on the floor and play with her toys.  She has to crawl and explore the house.  I was in the same room as her trying to fold laundry and she would not stay put.  It took me twice as long because I had to keep going after her.  My son was 10 months before he learned how to crawl and it was so NICE.  At this point I'd rather she learned how to walk because wherever we go she wants to get down and crawl.  Me being a germ freak, cannot put her down and instead I struggle while she wiggles in my arms and screams cause all she wants to do is crawl.

Unfortunately this is the stage I wish would pass.  I say unfortunately because I love how little and cute she is but crawling is a hard stage.  It's hard to enjoy it.

You can buy them here.  They have more colors if you don't want leopard.  They actually aren't priced to bad $18 or 2 for $30.

Recommit to Weight Loss

My baby is now 9 months old today!  I have been battling post pregnancy weight for that long.  With my first pregnancy the weight fell off.  I thought the same thing would happen with this pregnancy, especially since I gained 20 lbs less.  I worked harder too.  I cut out sugar and I started running 3-4 miles three times a week.  Yet nothing happened.  About two weeks ago I pulled my groin muscle and had to stop running until it heels.  I've been feeling pretty crapy especially because I really haven't worked out in two weeks.

Well today I put on some pre-pregnancy pants and they fit!  They are still a little to tight but not to bad.  I think I just found my motivation to start trying harder to loose weight.  I'm recommitting myself to loosing weight.  I really don't want to feel like a fatty during the summer time.

Last summer since I had just had my baby.  I avoided swimsuits and shorts.  This summer I would like to not avoid either.  Wish me luck!

Love LeapFrog

For my sons 2nd Birthday we bought him the LeapFrog Letter Factory DVD.  Three weeks later he knew every single letter in the alphabet.  What they looked like and what sound they made.  People were always shocked that he knew them.  It didn't matter what order you asked him in he could tell you what an R said and what a J said, etc.  You could point to a letter and he would tell you exactly what it was.  I give all the credit to this DVD.  He didn't even watch it everyday but picked it up quick.  I highly recommend buying this for your toddler.

Sick Day

I've been sick since Sunday.  Yesterday I thought I was getting better but then today I woke up feeling awful. Go figure.  I think when you're a mom you should be exempt from getting sick.  Cause even though you are you still have to take care of your kids and ignore the fact that you feel like your going to throw up when you're in a standing position.

Anyways, I have J plugged into Curious George and I wish the baby would get sucked in like him but she doesn't.  Instead she is crawling all over.  First she was over by my bedroom which was fine cause there is nothing over there.  Then I could hear sliding across the floor along with banging of a bracelet, she was on the move.

What Mom, I'm just enjoying the door stop.  Yes I army crawled under the bench to get to it.

See how cute I am!  Now I'm headed to eat the (fake) poinsettia. (Yes I still have it out from Christmas.  Don't judge me.)

Now she's in the entertainment center pulling out every DVD we own and making sure it taste good.  My husband can't get home soon enough.

Baby Jewelry

I love seeing babies with jewelry on.  After my daughter was born my mother gave me all the jewelry I had when I was a baby.  I was so excited for my daughter to get big enough to wear it.  I'm half Navajo so I love that my daughter has a turquoise bracelet to wear.  Now I just need to find some cute baby earrings to match.

My daughter never takes this bracelet off.  She wears it in the bath and when she's sleeping.  I think the younger the better.  That way they never even know that it's there.

Do you have jewelry from when you were a baby that your daughter now wears?

Sleep?

Honestly, I don't remember what a uninterrupted 8 hours of sleep feels like anymore.  Heck I don't even know what an uninterrupted 4 hours feels like.  I swear the moment I decide to go to sleep, doesn't matter what time it is, could be 9:30, 10:30, 11:00, and midnight.  It doesn't matter what time, but the moment I get comfy cozy in my bed I hear stirring followed by crying.

I then get out of bed walk through the house to the nursery.  I give my baby her pacifier and bunny.  I then try and slip out quietly back to my room.  I sit there and hope that will suffice her.  Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.  Like last night it didn't work.  I was barely out her door when she started crying again.  Like all good moms I can tell that this cry is serious business.  She's not going to stop until I nurse her.  So I go back nurse her and give her a quick diaper change.  Thirty minutes later I'm back in my bed.  Four hours later I hear more crying.  I go to the nursery and she's rolled over on her stomach holding her head up.  I know she's not going to go back to sleep without a fight.  I'm tired so I do what any sleep deprived mom would do, I nurse.  I lay my baby back in her crib and she instantly starts crying.  I rock her a few minutes and then put her back in her crib, she's good.  I slip out and back to my bed.  Then 3 hours later she's up for the day.

This is what a typical night for me and my almost 9 month old baby is like.  Some nights are better and some are worse.  For instance the night before she teased me with only waking up once at 11:30 pm and then not waking up again till 7:00 am.  That was HEAVEN for me.

I've seriously tried everything to get her to sleep through the night.  We've let her cry it out.  Forty minutes later she's still going strong.  She's seriously the most stubborn baby when it comes to sleeping at night.  She does great for her naps.  I've threatened to my husband that I'm done and we are switching to the bottle so I can get one good night of sleep.  But then I tell myself, "You only have 3 months left, you can do it.  You've already done it for 9 months."

I know that this soon will pass and she will be grown.  There are many nights that I do enjoy our time together.  The house is nice and peaceful and even though I 'm tired my baby always makes me smile. The intoxicating smell of baby smells even stronger at night.  Okay so maybe there are some positives to losing sleep.

Why I love Craigslist

We found this beauty yesterday for $60.

I've been searching for a double jogging stroller since before my baby was born.  She is now almost 9 months old.  These strollers can get $$$.  Every time I would see a good deal it would be gone fast.  When I saw this I knew it would go quick for that price.  My husband was fast and got the deal first, finally.

The stroller is in almost perfect condition.  We have it out back for cleaning.  Can't wait to use it!

Remember when you're searching for something on Craigslist check the site often.  You never know when someone is going to post just what you want.   Also, if you want it make sure you act fast before someone else takes it.

Birdie Mobile

When I found out I was pregnant with a girl I instantly knew that I wanted her room to be birds & owls.  I fell in love with a bird mobile idea.  Many people use stick and branches but I wanted to use a bird cage.  Do you know how hard it is to find a bird cage when you are looking for one?

I used this pattern for the birds from Spool Sewing.
These birds are so easy.  If I can make them anyone can.

I finally found the birdcage at TJ Maxx.  Love that place.  My husband hung the bird cage and the birds.  For the birds we used fish wire and silver tacks that we painted the same color as the ceiling.  In the pictures you can see the fish wire and tacks but in person you can't unless you look hard.  I absolutely love how it all turned out.  I always receive comments on it.
